STOKED ! ! With the clocks changing at the weekend I made the most of the extra hour and the sunshine and headed to Penhale for a surf, couldn't believe my luck, 2-3ft clean and an offshore wind, there were about 40 or so others in the water but they were pretty much congrigated around the main peaks, so I picked a spot and for most of the time I was out I had no one for a good 40 yards on either side of me even if I wasn't getting as many waves, still bliss, did I mention it was sunny and the waves were great. I started off as I expected by pearling over the top of my first wave and going through the rinse cycle. Things improved a lot after that and I caught several waves and got to my feet, although I'm not jumping up anywhere near early enough, but after not being for a surf since september I can hardly complain, and I finished the session off by catching a nice chest high green wave and riding it back to the beach, quite a result, heres hoping it'll be a good year. I know I need more practice but this will be the year I get it cracked !
